So today now being well over the programmed completion date, and this being the second assured completion day I have the initial renderers back on site that was originally on the project. Today is dry but very windy and the renderers were trying to temporary screen the sides of the property with Tarpaulins which are torn and have holes in. I spoke with all 3 of the renderers and asked if they would complete by close of play today. They obviously said no and said they had an additional 3 days left to completion. This has now had a large impact on the final week of the programme; the scaffolder’s who are due in tomorrow to dismantle, the Double Glazers who were re programmed in for tomorrow need the scaffolding dismantled in order to access the porch door for the door install. At this stage the breakdown of the site compound is scheduled for Friday which now just won’t be achievable.
In addition, BBCL aided in helping Lawtech’s sub contractors by provided them with new Tarpaulins and cable ties, so that they can actually try to start the top coat tomorrow and keep any potential rain off the newly coated walls. The reason for this is the subcontractors were told by the middle subby (Not Lawtech, buy someone who was subcontracting to Lawtech!) that everything was sheeted up for them today – but this was not the case! Following the renderers calls to the middle subcontractor they had been promised that Tarpaulins will be on site tomorrow and considering all the failed promises by Lawtech’s PM and Co this could not be chanced, so we supplied the renderers with the sheets that they required.
As another addition, we will arrange for our scaffolder’s to come to site first thing tomorrow to help by adding some additional scaffolding (canopy) for the tarpaulins to be tied to and give additional protection from the weather.
Not surprisingly, once we asked the subcontractors if they are to complete the below DPC insulation and render works, they knew nothing about this section of these works even though the insulation was delivered to site that day and signed for.
